Wisdom Teeth Removal in Corbin, KY

Wisdom teeth often erupt in late adolescence or early adulthood and can cause pain, infection or crowding if not properly monitored. Our experienced team evaluates your oral health and performs extractions when necessary to prevent future complications. Your comfort and recovery are our top priorities throughout the process.

01.

Process

Consultation and Evaluation: Your dentist will examine your mouth, take X-rays and determine if your wisdom teeth are impacted, infected or likely to cause future issues.

Pre-Procedure Preparation: You’ll receive instructions regarding eating, medications and sedation options. Most extractions involve local anesthesia, IV sedation or both.

Tooth Extraction: During the procedure, your dentist will gently open the gum tissue, remove any bone blocking the tooth and extract the tooth—sometimes in pieces if needed.

02.

Next Steps

Stitches and Gauze Placement: Stitches may be placed to help the area heal, and gauze is used to control bleeding immediately after the extraction.

Immediate Recovery: You’ll rest briefly in the office while the anesthesia wears off. Aftercare instructions will be provided before you leave.

Healing: Expect swelling, mild discomfort and a soft-food diet for a few days. Follow instructions for pain relief, oral hygiene and activity restrictions.
